"Why We're Going" is a story of a family fleeing a situation in which they're threatened, and is intentionally ambiguous as to what that is. The song is a reflection on determination, passion, and drive. It astounds me how people persevere through challenges, whether that is a risk to their physical well being or a dark mental place.
